Your book deserves more than AI slop.
Generic prose can fill a manuscript without giving readers a reason to care. Your experience and judgement should give the book its direction. riter’s vision is personal writing assistance that helps you develop what you have to say.
What we mean by AI slop
We mean generated writing that adds words without enough substance: repetitive explanations, unsupported claims and a voice that could belong to anyone. Polished sentences can still leave a reader with little to take away.
Using AI does not, by itself, make a book poor. The question is whether the author’s knowledge, imagination and decisions shape the work. Useful assistance should help you examine an idea, question an assumption and develop a contribution of your own.
Authorship and transparency are already concerns in publishing. The Authors Guild launched its Human Authored certification in January 2025. Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing guidelines distinguish AI-generated content from AI-assisted work and require disclosure of generated content. How you use a tool matters; choosing riter does not certify a book’s authorship or determine its disclosure requirements.

Speak an idea or bring in earlier writing. Work from that material towards an outline and chapters, with your original perspective guiding the revisions.
Build a book that holds together
Follow characters and events through a novel. For non-fiction, develop your concepts and frameworks while keeping your contribution distinct from the work you cite.
Give factual claims something to stand on
Research assistance should bring sources, dates and conflicting evidence into view. You can then judge what the manuscript supports and what needs more work.
Carry the work through to its finished form
Our vision includes cover and chapter artwork, interior design and exports in Markdown, Word and PDF. Review the writing and design together, and choose where to take your manuscript next.
You decide which suggestions belong in the book. Personal context is useful, but it cannot guarantee originality or accuracy. Those still require your attention and review.

These choices can complement one another. A writing platform can sit alongside an editor or designer. Choose the support that helps your particular book, and assess the writing it produces with you rather than the volume of words it can generate.
What to look for in writing assistance
Can you recognise your own contribution?
Look for your perspective and specific examples in the manuscript. A familiar tone alone does not establish that the work expresses what you meant.
Can you question the result?
Check the evidence behind factual claims. Review suggestions in context and decide what to accept, revise or reject.
Wording patterns can prompt a useful edit; they do not prove AI authorship. riter’s preview checks do not detect plagiarism or verify facts. The purpose is to support your judgement as you revise.
